La Dra. Stella Chaushu es Vicedecana, Profesora Titular y Directora del Departamento de Ortodoncia en la Escuela de Medicina Dental Hadassah de la Universidad Hebrea de Jerusalén, Israel, donde obtuvo su título de Cirujano Dentista (DMD), su especialidad en Ortodoncia, así como los grados de MSc y PhD en Inmunología.
La profesora Chaushu participa activamente en la promoción de la investigación en ortodoncia a través de numerosos cargos de liderazgo, publicaciones académicas, presentaciones en congresos y labores docentes, lo que le ha valido premios y reconocimientos a nivel internacional, incluyendo el prestigioso premio Dewel, otorgado en 2015 por la investigación clínica mejor evaluada publicada en el American Journal of Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics, y el premio WFO Outstanding Educator en 2025.
Ha coautoría con sus colegas más de 100 artículos científicos, 20 capítulos en libros y 2 patentes. Como clínica, es considerada una referente en el tratamiento de dientes impactados, ortodoncia en adultos y pacientes con necesidades especiales. Su investigación en ciencias básicas se centra en el rol del sistema inmunológico en el movimiento dentario ortodóncico.
La Dra. Chaushu es miembro del Comité Editorial del American Journal of Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics, Editora Asociada de Seminars in Orthodontics y Progress in Orthodontics.
Dr. Stella Chaushu is Vice Dean, Full Professor and Chairperson of Department of Orthodontics, Hebrew University-Hadassah School of Dental Medicine, Jerusalem, Israel, from where she earned her DMD and Specialist in Orthodontics degrees and her MSc and PhD in Immunology.
Prof. Chaushu is extensively involved in promoting orthodontic research through her numerous leadership positions, scholarly publications, conference presentations, and teaching, which have garnered her awards and recognition around the world, including the prestigious Dewel award, given for the highest-ranked clinical research published in the American Journal of Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics and of Orthodontics in 2015 and the WFO Outstanding Educator award in 2025. She has authored together with her colleagues more than 100 scientific papers, 20 chapters in books and 2 patents. As a clinician she is considered an opinion leader in treatment of impacted teeth, adult orthodontics and Special Needs patients. Her basic science research focuses on the role of the immune system in orthodontic tooth movement. Dr. Chaushu is a member of the Editorial Board of American Journal of Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics and of Orthodontics, Associate Editor of Seminars in Orthodontics and Progress in Orthodontics.
